See I know why they did it. That doesn’t make me any more happy though. I’m sick of the censoring! Where is the nude yuri implications of Erza and Kyoka!!!
Will Deven finally be able to catch up with his reviews? Find out soon!!!
So we start off this episode with Erza and Mirjane arriving at Crawford Theme(I’m willing to say Theme here rather than Seam but don’t think it’s going to be a common thing) place.
They explain the situation about Tartarus and he invites them to have some tea.
She totally was about to say parfum right there. You’ve been hanging out with Ichiya too much Erza.
Mirajane asks about Face and the identity of the three members protecting its activation with their lives via the Link Magic. However he doesn’t know, saying that Face was supposed to be a scrapped weapon.
He’s totally useless…
But then Tartarus soldiers come in to attack but Erza and Mira go in on them.
Ah the beauty of two beautiful women fighting together. No greater art.
We switch over for a bit to Sayla and Elfman and Lisanna. Looks like Lisanna can’t hold out much longer and Elfman’s starting to beg. Oh Sayla has ideas.
I’d sell my soul to her. Not for anything in particular just because she’s so good looking. You’ve got to give props to Aki Toyosaki in this scene. Her voice gives the right combination of sinster and sexy at the same time.
Then we go over to Oracion Seis who were released after Cobra coughed up some information about Tartarus. However who’s waiting there for them?
Looks like Doranbolt is hedging his bets. Also Brain’s been killed by Cobra. He ain’t about trusting those traitors. Jellal gets into a fight against the members of Oracion Seis in order to show them what real freedom is.
Then we switch back to the battle against the Tartarus soldiers where we see Erza and Mira pass out. Turns out that the former chairman drugged the tea and he’s handing them over to Tartarus. The little traitor!
Once Erza wakes up she’s in jail in the Tartarus base, unfortunately fully clothed, where she is tortured for information on Jellal’s whereabouts by Kyoka. She knows that Erza has no clue where Jellal is. She just loves to torture people.
I like this scene. Ai Kayano being all sexy torturous with Sayaka Ohara…I’m all red with the yuri implications.
After that we switch over to Franmalth and Crawford walking through the Tartarus base, talking about how no one’s going to ever find them and what’s going to happen in the future.
Then Natsu who figured out something was up comes crashing through the window, ready to fight!
And the episode ends there.
I can’t wait for the next episode.
So until the next episode,

That ending! Lisa you genius! I love this lady!
So the episode opens up with Shiro finding out that the bread he bought has been stolen and replaced with three 100 yen coins. Nice thief.
So Shiro goes over to where Rin is staying and it looks like she’s a late riser.
Too cute! Oh Rin! And she’s wearing kitty pajamas! Also she still isn’t up but then again Shiro wakes before Sakura gets there to make breakfast. And Sakura gets there before school starts…let’s see. School for them starts at 7 so Sakura could be there any time between 5 and 6 in the morning.
Wow they’re early risers. On the other hand, Rin while not late for school isn’t getting there with time to spare.
After a quick talk with Saber, Rin arrives for breakfast and tells them she and him are going out on a date.
Oh it’s a date. That’s cute.
Calm down bro. It ain’t that big a deal. I don’t know how you managed to romance Saber in Fate if you’re so scared of going out on a date.
So after the opening we see Taiga teasing Shiro about going on a date with Rin and all. She’d tease him more but she’s got a date herself.
I think she learned to drive from Haruka from FLCL…
Anyway the girls and Shiro take the bus over to the next town. Rin tries to get Shiro or Saber to figure out what they’re going to be doing but they aren’t really coming forth with ideas. Mainly because Shiro’s being all tsundere on Rin and Saber is just doing guard duty.
So Rin’s doing all the choosing and the first place they go is a cafe.
Then we get a montage of the three of them walking around and having a good time.
After they end up in a glasses store so of course they’re going for the glasses look.
Cute and intellectual! My favorite type.
Look it’s Harry Potter. We can expect great things from you Mr. Emiya. That’s a quote from the first Harry Potter movie.
So after the glasses shop Rin teases Shiro about his Harry Potter ish looks after that to go to the batting cages.
Wow she’s good. Forget the Grail War maybe you can play for a woman’s baseball team. I wonder why there isn’t a professional woman’s baseball league.
Anyway after Shiro is in awe of Rin’s batting skills, we turn to Saber.
Saber, sweetie. It’s a bat not a sword.
After they leave the batting cages, Shiro compliments Rin on her hitting ability and asks does she do push ups or something.
Ufotable doing a girl blushing? I’m shocked! But it’s so cute so I can get over it quickly.
So after that we go to the park with our lovable threesome…if this is the Good End then it would be a real threesome.
Then we see this gem.
Good work Ufotable! So cute! I never thought that I’d be saying that Ufotable.
Turns out that Rin was the one that stole the bread. And so the Legendary Bread Mystery is over.
Wow. Beautiful, smart, powerful, fit, and she can cook. You’ve got yourself a good catch Shiro. Only one better is Sakura but you know all the worms and the emotional issues.
So they start eating and Rin continues with her incredibly cute teasing. It’s really cute but you wnat’s funnier. All while this is happening Saber’s just chomping down on sandwiches.
Saber is the sterotypical third wheel in this. Sad…
After all this positiveness and cuteness from this threesome, we have to go to Taiga’s date.
Now this is a Ufotable exclusive scene but it’s also canon. It’s kinda sad and sweet at the same time.
Note: When Kiritsugu was alive he had a friend named Shirley. She was his first love. She had personality similar to Taiga. Look at Fate/Zero they look pretty much the same. Anyway when Taiga and Kiritsugu met after the 4th Grail War, he doted on her because she was so similar to Shirley. However she liked him but after getting Irisivel and Maiya killed as well as burning down an entire district of the city the last thing he wanted was a relationship.
After talking to Kiritsugu’s grave we see someone show up.
Maybe it’s a salesperson…aw who am I kidding? It’s Caster! Wow she’s good looking. Just wish we could see her face.
I know Caster’s evil and manipulative but when see her I see this.
I love this. It’s so funny. Also Atsuko Tanaka(Caster’s Seiyuu) well known for doing very sexy characters and voices, doing moe Caster. It’s so freaking cute!
So we move on to Shiro, Saber, and Rin gettting on the bus to get back to Fuyuki. However something’s amiss.
And we’re on the ghost bus….ooooh.
So the bus gets blown open and it turns out that’s it’s Caster!
Turns out our group is in Caster’s bounded field. Wait a second. I thought that Bounded Fields were just like locking down a place or acting as a alarm system.
Note:Caster as a Mage from the Age of the Gods is more powerful than your average modern mage. Mostly because magecraft back then was so much more powerful.
So Caster comes in with her hostage.
Darn you Caster!
So what are you going to do Shiro? Are you going to join Caster?
However Caster tries to hit a nerve by mentioning his past with Kiritsugu and how his life was so screwed up the Grail. She offers the Grail up to Shiro saying that she can make it appear early but it should be impossible to pull that off. However Caster is a crafty and smart Mage. Few things are impossible for her magically.
However Shiro ain’t taking up the deal but calling Caster a witch is the dumbest thing he can do.
And now she’s going to blast him to ashes. Wait what’s this?
Dude don’t! If you do that then she’ll have Saber! Saber is the only thing that holding Caster back from running train on everyone.
Note: Like I said, Saber has Magic Resistance and it’s higher than usual because of her Dragon Blood. As a result Caster can’t even touch Saber even with her broken level magic. However having her as a Servant means that her biggest obstacle is been destroyed
So Saber jumps into the battle against Caster but Shiro uses a Command Spell to make her stop.
And that gives Caster the chance to use her Noble Phantasm, Rule Breaker.
And with that Caster has broken the contract between Saber and Shiro. Saber belongs to Caster now. And you know what the first thing she’s going to do…
She’s going after Rin!
There’s no way to win this fight.
Oh Saber…
Thanks for coming through Archer but a bit too late!
So with Archer breaking through the Bounded Field, Shiro and Rin manage to escape, leaving Saber with Caster…
I love Unlimited Blade Works but my favorite heroine is always going to be Saber. For the first time, Saber actually has friends that care about her and friends that she doesn’t have to hide her gender with. She can be herself. And now she’s with a crazy lady. Anyone would be sad.
So after they escape, they head over to Rin’s place to patch up Shiro as well as discuss the results of the battle and Archer’s memories and reactions to Saber’s capture.
Note: Shiro’s injuries aren’t healing anymore because he lacks the connection to Saber. Remember he has Saber’s final Noble Phantasm, Avalon, inside him and it gives him a healing factor as long as Saber is his Servant
Side Note: This one is going to be a spoiler. Archer does remember everything and he has met Saber before. They knew each very well. They had a relationship almost as close as Saber and Shiro have now. If you know what I mean.
So after Rin and Archer’s conversation, Shiro finally wakes up. However without Saber’s healing, he’s sluggish and trips.
And he finds this.
You remember this. It’s the necklace that Rin used to save Shiro the day he got attacked by Lancer. Now Shiro realizes that Rin is the one that saved him that day.
And that necklace is going to be the key in this route.
And with that we switch to Caster and Assassin talking about his continuing protection of the gate. However when he gets a little too mouthy Caster does the following.
And then he just gets up like nothing!
This is my favorite form of this scene though.
Now isn’t that funnier.
And with that Caster takes flight to the Kotomine Church where Caster has herself a good talk with Kotomine.
If you didn’t already know Caster is the figure from Greek Mythology, Medea. And apparently her true name is a sore spot.
And with that Caster drives Kotomine out of the church but hey he can still fight like a badass!
After that we switch over to Shiro struggling to find Rin. He manages to find her on the top of a roof.
He tries to fight alongside her to save Saber but the way he is and without any power he’d just hold her back.
There’s nothing that Shiro can do. It’s all up to Rin to win the war.
And Rin jumps off the building and Archer catches her as they head off to fight Caster alone, leaving Shiro on the top of the building.
And with that the first part of Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works is over.
Too hype but there’s one thing I want to talk about.
In the Visual Novel the main theme is a song called This Illusion and when the Studio DEEN version came out it was remixed into Disillusion. So the only way to end this version of Fate/Stay Night is with the thing that started it off for everyone. But with a new twist! LiSA is singing This Illusion. It sounds so good!
I’m giving Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works a 10 out of 10! Great voice acting, beautiful visuals, and excellent plot.
The only thing that makes me sad that we won’t get any more Fate stuff until April. Oh April where are you?
Until the next season,
Later Days

Ah the art of set up. It is incredibly necessary but why can we get to the good stuff now!
Note: The original title of this review was going to be the Penultimate Episode but I’ve made this joke so much I had to have it as the title.
Just in case I didn’t say anything before, I’ll say it now. The final episode of the first season of Fate/ Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works will be one hour episode.
Good! Yay!
But after that it goes on a hiatus for the Winter Season and it won’t come back until the Spring Season.
Awww!
Now get back to the review.
So we come on after the battle against Kuzuki and Caster and Shiro’s just exhausted and his hands are numb and burning.
Of course Shiro’s being all heroic and saying that nothing’s wrong. But looks like he can’t even sleep because of the overwhelming pain.
Poor Shiro.
So after the opening Shiro wakes up he notices at least the insane amount of pain is gone. So he goes to check on Saber.
Truly a sleeping beauty.
After checking on her Shiro goes to make breakfast as a thanks but he stumbles and falls on his knees. Maybe that projection did more damage to you that you thought my man.
Stop! I want to say one thing. I’ve been playing Fate/ Stay Night the visual novel and I just got a Bad End. Number 18. Now after seeing it in anime, you have no reason to think that this is happening…then again that’s what makes it genius
Note: What I’m referencing is Bad End 18 of Fate/Stay Night called Hypnos. It’s a Bad End you get in the Unlimited Blade Works route. You get it if you ask too many questions to Issei about Caster. Turns out that everyone, and when I say everyone I mean everyone, at the Ryuudo Temple is under Caster’s mind control. She takes over their minds if people ask too many questions about her. She takes over Issei’s mind, guts Shiro like a fish, and then slits Issei’s throat.
Anyway after that we meet up with Shiro at school and Taiga is subbing the class. Kuzuki’s out sick. Right…
Come on. We all know he’s just planning and plotting with Caster and getting some ‘action’ on the side. Come on they legit love each other. Strange love but love nonetheless.
So Taiga tries to pop a English quiz in World History but that doesn’t matter because Shiro’s arm is still feeling really numb.
So we flash to the end of the day and Shiro didn’t meet up with Rin like he was supposed to.
Hope he doesn’t go all Caster mindslave on her. I still can’t believe that Bad End. There is nothing that tells you that would happen!
So Shiro goes home but even after the entire day his left arm is still hurting.
Hahaha. Dark comedy!
Note: During the Heaven’s Feel Route, Shiro loses his arm during a battle against the Shadow. Archer lets Kotomine transplant his left arm onto Shiro. This is the same arm that causes Shiro to nearly kill himself multiple times during the route.
So Shiro makes lunch for Saber and himself but as he starts taking stuff to the table. Saber feels for him but before things get all Saber x Shiro. There’s a knock at the door.
Hey Rin.
What the hell Shiro?
Rin’s breaking and entering!
So Rin gets a bit angry about Shiro not checking in that day. She’s really mad that she missed the chance to be with him the day.
Rin decides to come in and discuss strategy over lunch with Shiro and Saber.
If you don’t like it, kick her out! Then again her rear end is sexy enough to forgive anything.
So they and by they I mean Saber and Rin start strategizing about to face Caster but look at this.
Hmmm maybe because he’s alone with two insanely hot girls. He probably doesn’t trust himself to not being drooling.
So without really getting much done, Shiro sees what time is it and tries to get Rin out of the house so he can start dinner and plus he’s uncomfortable around her.
Oh Shiro. Let her Fate Stay the Night!
Hahahahahah oh that’s funny.
….
No love? I get when my joke bombs.
So since they haven’t made any progress Rin and Saber insists that she stay night. One would say that it’s her fate to stay the night.
There is that funny?
Anyway, Shiro gives in but he says that Taiga’s coming so she’ll have to convince her to let her stay.
So Taiga comes in and gets all relaxed, checks out what Shiro’s cooking, and it’s not until Rin says hi does Taiga notice her.
Bit so slow on the uptake eh Taiga? Anyway after that it’s just a complete pwnage on Rin’s part for tricking Taiga into letting her stay the night.
And it all ends in Taiga’s confusion and Rin’s staying the night.
Poor girl never had a chance.
So after dinner Rin asks to do the dishes but Shiro insists but starts to break some plates because of the numbness in his hands.
Rin takes over and Shiro goes all tsundere on her.
After that Rin goes outside that’s where Shiro and Rin have a great conversation about how she can feel the warmth of the home through the house’s Bounded Field.
Note: Bounded Fields are a type of barrier. They can do a multitude of things. Sometimes they can be a powerful as Rider’s Blood Fort Andromeda. Or just as a normal as the Emiya house where it just alerts the occupants that someone’s nearby. Things like Reality Marbles and Marble Phantasms are Bounded Fields as well.
They also talk about their respective trainings as mages. Rin loved it because she enjoys the training and the experience. But then she gets mad at Shiro because he doesn’t really take it seriously. He only practices magic so he can protect people just like Kiritsugu.
At this point, Rin realizes something that we all know. Shiro can’t live for himself. He lives for others and he can’t make himself happy.
At the end, Rin says this.
She’s referencing Archer here. She might be figuring out the big secret of the Unlimited Blade Works Route.
After that conversation, Shiro tries to walk Rin home but she’s going to fate stay the night. That’s the third time I’ve made this joke.
The classic Rin clothes. Ah too awesome Ufotable!
So he’s a Heroic Spirit that has saved the world thousands of time and you use him to get you a overnight bag? Really smart Rin. It’s like using a flamethrower to get rid of the cobwebs.
Anyway Shiro gets all shocked and confused. Then he goes out to the shed to practice magic and Saber comes to see.
Then she starts to ask about Kiritsugu.
Now if you don’t know Kiritsugu and Saber participated in the Fourth Grail War so I’m guessing that she’s trying to get Shiro’s view of him.
And Saber’s view of him and Shiro’s are completely different which makes sense. Kiritsugu changed so much after the 4th Grail War. You would too after killing your closest friend, illusions of your wife and daughter, getting cursed by All the World’s Evils, and then getting an entire district of Fuyuki burned down because of your decision to destroy the Grail.
Sounds similar to Saber Alter. She killed Lancelot in the 4th War, had her ideals backfire on her when she talked to Rider and Gilgamesh. Then she gets cursed by All the World’s Evils and just breaks down. Unlike Kiritsugu she doesn’t find something to live for like Shiro.
Anyway after that Archer comes in and tells Shiro what the problem is. Turns out that Shiro’s not been using his Magic Circuits properly so using them for the first time sent them into shock.
So Archer sends some prana into Shiro’s circuits and fixes them up. And before that Archer says that he should fight for himself and not for an ideal that isn’t his own.
And with that, the episode ends.
Good episode. I really like all the hints we’re getting at Archer’s true identity.
It’s only one episode left and then we have the long 4 month wait until the 2nd part. The struggle will be real until then.
Well until the next episode,
Later Days

Hey everyone. It’s Deven and I’m coming at you with some Fate news.
This 2015 is going to be a very good year for the Fate series. Why you say? Well I’m going to tell you!
First up!
Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works will be continuing with its second cour this April. Now you’ve seen the last episode with that awesome end with LiSA singing This Illusion and Shiro losing Saber. Too badass an ending!
But if you think that Unlimited Blade Works is going to be going downhill from here on out, you’ll be completely wrong! There will be betrayals, love, epic battles, clashes of ideals and the reveal of Archer’s identity.
Next up coming around roughly Spring 2015 is Fate/Grand Order. Now this is going to be an Android/iOS RPG game. We don’t have very much information but we do have a list of the Servants and with Arturia Pendragon(Saber), Jeanne D’Arc(Ruler), Shielder, Archer, and Lancer. How can it not be great!
Then during the Summer 2015 will be the super cutesy but still awesome Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya will have the second part of its second season. Now despite me being a very deep Fate fan, I didn’t even think that Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya was good. I thought it was just well a cutesy little thing with no connection to the original. However then I saw this:
How could I not want to look at the entire thing after seeing that! I’m still looking at the first season but it looks like it has a good combination of action and cute magical girl stuff. And that’s always good!
Finally with an unknown release date but it’s sure to come out next year Ufotable’s Fate/Stay Night Heaven’s Feel Movie.
Now I know what some of you are thinking. You’ve still got the bad taste of the Studio Deen Unlimited Blade Works Movie. Those idiots tried to compress a Route nearly 20 hours long into 2 hours. You think that Ufotable is going to do the same with Heaven’s Feel.
You’ll be wrong. I’ve checked it out. Ufotable between 2007 to 2009 released Kara no Kyoukai. Now what did they do? Release one movie to cover three volume? Wrong! They made sure to do three things:
1. The Light Novel is written out of chronological order. Ufotable, like the folks that made the SAO anime, they put it in order.
2. Made sure to have the top class animation for the day and great voice actors. Granted it is like say their Fate/Zero or Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works work but the animation very fluid and does stand up to the test of time well. As for voice talent, you can see the relationship between the female lead and male lead. Why? Because Shiki and Mikiya are voiced by Maaya Sakamoto and Kenichi Suzumura who are married. You can’t get better chemistry than a married couple. Granted they got married in 2011 and the movies came out between 2007 and 2009.
3.Finally they made seven movies! Now that’s smart. Why stuff massive amounts into one movie when you can have seven movies and with no need to rush.
So we have evidence that Ufotable knows how to make a movie right.
It’s safe to say that Ufotable will be doing multiple Heaven’s Feel movies so they can give the Route a proper adaptation.
This is going to be the best year ever for the Fate Series. I can’t wait!
Until then,
Later Days
